Nintendo has released its new, third generation DSi Handheld Game Console - and it seems destined to make a huge impact on the portable consoles market!

Following on from the DSLite, some of the new features of the Nintendo DSi Handheld Game Console include larger 3.25" LCD displays (in a body which is 12 percent thinner), two cameras (one external 3-megapixel camera and a front-facing camera situated on the hinge), and the Nintendo DSi Sound application - which has the dual function of being an interactive voice recorder and a music player.

The Nintendo DSi Handheld Game Console looks set to lay down new standards in portable gaming, and will be the platform for all of the most up-to-the minute games and applications. Nevertheless, the DSi will allow backward compatibility with Nintendo DS games - with over 850 titles already in existence for that system.
